Organize your iPad screen so that it works most efficiently for you. If you simply click on an icon, it will start wiggling. This will then allow you to move it to whatever position on your screen works best for you. You can organize icons into folders or place them on different screens to increase your productivity.

All of the satellite navigation applications in the iPad are not free. A good substitute for this is using the Maps instead. Tap on Directions in the upper left of Maps. The iPad will then figure out your location and will direct you on each stage of your travels to your destination.

Take Apple’s iTours to get yourself familiar with your new iPad. It is fun to have all these exciting new apps, but sometimes you could use a little help figuring out how to use them. Apple has an online video tour for every app that comes preinstalled on your device, so be sure to take a look at them.

You can extend the life of your iPad’s battery by using the device in Airplane Mode. In Airplane Mode, WiFi and wireless radio are disabled. This is ideal if you do not require an Internet connection to use your iPad. You will still be able to use your tablet to read e-books, play games and use certain apps without draining the battery.

The Spotlight search feature searches everything you have, including the songs on you iPod, apps, events and podcasts. If you want to restrict what it searches, you can go to Settings, then General and then Spotlight Search. Here, you can pick which categories you do want it to search and which you don’t.
